I've put off offering a few words about Parma for years because, for one thing, I was too stunned at learning of her passing, and also at a total loss for words. We seem to reach a point in life when time is an evil dimension.

My memories of Parma are all about her sense of humor. We had lots of laughs together. I can still hear her saying: "high, mountain (high voice); low, valley (low voice) and giggling. We stayed in touch after graduation. She got a job off upper Page Mill and I worked for ALZA on Porter Drive, close by. About 1975 we went to lunch together and she still looked like she did in High School. By the time I worked for Cooper Vision in Mountain View in International Regulatory Affairs, Parma had moved to Florida and I believe had had a child and we'd talk on the phone as I could call all over the world from my office phone. After that we lost touch.

It's truly amazing how some of us physically change over the years while others do not. For example, Ken Wardal still looks the same but Parma looked totally different in the obituary photo.
